Welcome to Fresh Empanada, where we bring you the best in fresh, homemade empanadas! Our story began in Scarborough, where our small restaurant, Fresh Choice Cafe, offered empanadas as part of our menu. While they were popular among our customers, we believed that we could do something special with this traditional dish by putting our own spin on it.

We decided to create a takeout concept that focused solely on empanadas, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients that are cooked in small quantities so that every bite is deliciously fresh. Thanks to our dedicated team of amazing workers, every empanada is 100% created and made by us, from the freshly made dough to the carefully crafted fillings.
Our empanadas are not just your average snack - they're a fusion of traditional Filipino and Latin American flavors. As a proud Filipina, Teofila Caranguian, our friendly and smiling owner, knows firsthand how much Filipinos love their food and especially empanadas. We've put our own unique twist on this beloved dish by using traditional ingredients without being afraid to try new flavours.
